TeamOne have booked the final spot at the Americas Minor after winning the South American open qualifier with a 2-0 victory over Isurus.
Almost 100 teams from all over South America competed over the weekend in a single-elimination bracket, featuring best-of-three matches from the Round of 32 onwards, for the chance to attend the Americas Minor, next month.
TeamOne, who fielded Caike "caike" Costa instead of Bruno "BIT" Fukuda Lima, proved their credentials as favourites by reaching the final with a near-flawless run as they dropped just one map, to fellow Brazilian side Supernova in the Round of 16.
From the other half of the bracket came Isurus, who had headed into the qualifier high on form after winning the South American WCA Finals. Nicolas "NikoM" Miozzi's side defeated the likes of FURIA and INTZ to set up a thrilling encounter between two of South America's strongest teams.
The first map of the series, however, was a complete blowout as TeamOne cruised to a 14-1 lead on the Terrorist side of Nuke. Isurus still tried to put up a fight, picking up three rounds in a row at the start of the second half, but then the Brazilians quickly locked down the map.
Carrying their momentum into the second map, Inferno, TeamOne got out to a 4-0 lead on the CT side. It was only then that Isurus's offense came to life, with the Argentinian side stringing six rounds together. After that, neither side could stamp their authority on the game, with the half ending in a close 8-7 scoreline.
TeamOne came out of the break with renewed impetus and won five rounds in a row to bring the scoreline to a 12-8 advantage. Isurus would still be able to get a couple of rounds on the board, but another great run from the Brazilians would see them take the map without dropping any more rounds.
